Verizon Wireless, partners to build Trans-Pacific Express fiber optic network to connection U.S. and China. Verizon Wireless and five Asian telecom companies call it the Trans-Pacific Express and it's a high-speed optical line that will handle voice and data between the United States and China. It's said that customers will see speeds of 10 gigabits per second on the $500 million dollar project and the fiber optic system will add an enhancement to lower speeds that already connect the United States and China.![]() The 17,700- kilometre system has so much capacity they are comparing it to 62 million simultaneous phone conversations so it's a broadband system that can handle massive amount of video, voice, data, and the rest. This new Trans-Pacific Express is touted as having 60 times more capacity than the current system that facilitates traffic between China and the U.S. Hopefully, this will bring the two world giants even closer in commerce and trade. This partnership will definitely increase the speed of Verizon's network and connections to eastern nations. Verizon Partnership To Build Trans-Pacific Express [Via: Reuters] |
