Unboxing the Treo 680 and Initial Impression Wahoo, after years and years of using the Treo, the external antenna is finally gone once and for all. The battery is smaller allowing the new handset to be slightly thinner than previous models. The Treo 680 is much thicker in comparison to the T-Mobile Dash. I'm so used to a thinner and lighter device, so it's going to be rough carrying this thing around over the next few days. The new menu is nice allowing for quicker access to information that you care most about. Check out the video below. If you're going to leave out 3G, at least give us the option to use Wi-Fi; EDGE alone doesn't cut it! Then again, for a sweet price tag of only $199 (via Cingular) it's hard to complain. There's not doubt that the touch screen is beautiful. I know most of you out there like it, however it doesn't really matter much to me. I've gotten used to not having one and find that it?s less cumbersome at times without a touchscreen. We use Microsoft Exchange Direct Push email; I don't think Palm OS supports it out of the box. I'll have to look into this more but this would probably be the deal breaker for me. That's all for now, make sure to return sometime in the future for a more in depth look Palm Treo 680 Image Gallery |
