According to Reuter's report, the Nokia N91 is delayed and expected to become commercially available worldwide by Q1 2006. The Finnish mobile firm had originally planned to get the N91 onto the market during the last quarter of this year, in time for the Christmas and end-of-year holiday seasons. "What we basically decided is that we will postpone it a few weeks, push it out to Q1 and do this Microsoft DRM implementation solidly," Jonas Geust, vice president of music in Nokia's Multimedia division, said in an interview. Windows Media digital rights management (DRM) is a flexible platform that makes it possible to protect and securely deliver a la carte and subscription content for playback on a computer, portable device, or network device. Portable devices such as portable audio and video players, set-top boxes, and mobile devices with audio and video capabilities to directly or indirectly acquire and play Windows Media–based protected content.
