SAGEM announced today the launch of its first Smartphone, the myS-7 featuring Microsoft Windows Mobile software for Smartphones.

The sleek, lightweight Smartphone with tri-band GSM/GPRS technology has been designed for professional and personal entertainment use. The myS-7 enables customers to manage personal information and synchronise their e-mail, calendar and contacts with Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 either via a PC connection or via seamless over-the-air synchronisation with Microsoft Exchange Server.

Further to these innovative features, the myS-7 is a comfortable handset that enjoys a large, high-resolution 65,536-colour screen, and two rich polyphonic speakers that allow the user to listen to Microsoft Windows Media Audio and MP3 music files. Its wide range of applications and memory capabilities (easy access to expandable memory via an SD or MMC card) allow the user to store and play an extensive amount of music and mobile video files. The myS-7 also offers the possibility to personalise original ring tones and home screens, while downloading exciting new and highly advanced 3-D games over the air.

"We at SAGEM are very proud to introduce this new product, which is a significant illustration of the enlargement of our product range. The myS-7 is SAGEM's first Smartphone device featuring Windows Mobile software, a state-of-the-art software platform by Microsoft and SAGEM’s cutting-edge hardware," declared Thierry Buffenoir, Managing Director of SAGEM's Mobile Phones Division. "SAGEM has acquired throughout the years a confirmed place in the handset manufacturers’ field, and the myS-7 is sure to offer mobile communication carriers, developers, business professionals and end users a new experience in mobile communication."

"The launch of the SAGEM myS-7 with Windows Mobile software is a significant milestone for the Windows Mobile platform. SAGEM has great experience in the handset market and is a well-recognised and popular brand amongst mobile professionals and consumers," added Didier Burdinat, director of the Mobile Device Division of Microsoft France. "The SAGEM myS-7 will help our customers connect with the information and people that matter most to them while on the go, enjoying the familiarity of Windows applications on their mobile devices."

SAGEM will continue to extend its mobile phones' range in the second half of the year with innovative and highly advanced mobile phones for the mid and mid high tier market segments, reinforcing SAGEM's presence in numerous markets.
