Some reviewers manage to pump out so much coverage that I wonder whether in fact there's a team of clones all going by the same name. Judie Hughes at Gear Diary is just one such reviewer, and her latest conquest is the HTC Star Trek smartphone (which has also gone by its Qtek 8500 moniker). The Star Trek gained some internet notoriety pre-release, packing as it does the Windows Mobile 5.0 OS into a clamshell pretty damn close to RAZR dimensions, and Judie puts it through its paces not only as a cellphone but as a PDA too.
It’s a generally very positive review: perhaps the biggest credit to HTC is that Judie feels she could recommend the Star Trek to a non-techy user. The A2DP stereo Bluetooth support, solid build and surfeit of features all add up to a highly usable and attractive smartphone (it comes in black, too, if you’re not a fan of pink).
