Audiovox and AT&T Wireless Announce Affordable and Innovative Pocket PC with Integrated Wireless Voice and Data. The release of the Audiovox PPC 410 is not new news. What is new is that the PPC 410 is being released on AT&T Wireless network. Expect the PPC 410 to be available in June 2004 and showcased for the first time today at Microsoft's Tech Ed conference in San Diego, CA. You can pick it up for $349 after a $50 instant rebate. I bet the instant rebate will require some activation or commitment to AT&T. I venture to assume that many of those who are buying one will get it unlocked to use on T-Mobile network. What's the catch? The PPC 410 looks great on paper. The price is extremely reasonable. It's got more features than anyone can ever use. It's a tri-band (850/1800/1900 MHZ) GSM(TM)/GPRS Pocket PC. The unit is powered by Windows Mobile 2003 software for Pocket PCs on a 400 MHz, with 64MB RAM, 64 ROM and built-in SD/MMC expansion slot. How will the MPx220, MPx300 and iPaq 6300 compare to the PPC 410? I guess we'll find out when they are all released on the market. Pages (2): [1] 2 » ... Last » |
