AnexTEK SP230 is GSM Tri-Band Pocket PC Phone with a sleek new dsign incorporating a numeric keypad on the outside flip.

A visitor sent me an email last night wondering why we didn't have anything about the AnexTEK SP230 on our site.  Smartfone.net must of missed the release of this device sometime back February.

Anyways, the SP230 seems like a very solid unit with all the standard features.  It runs Microsoft Pocket PC Phone 2003 and has a 3.5" TFT LCD screen, capable of displaying 240x320 pixels and 65,000 colours.

The SP230 offer other features such as support for the sending and receiving of Outlook mail which isn't standard on many other devices.  You'll be able to access e-mail from a free Hotmail account, company mailbox or personal mail account. You'll be able to use MSN Messenger and will also be have options to send graphic messages through support of the MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) specification.

The SP230 is powered by an Intel XScale 400MHZ processor and comes with 64MB of ROM and 64MB of RAM.
You'll can add extra storage by using a built-in Secure Digital and Multi-Media Card memory expansion slot to hold large amounts of personal information, WMV films, or even your favourite movies.

I am happy to see that AnexTEK gave the SP230 a relatively large battery.  It has a 1480mAh battery which technically should last 12 hours when playing MP3 with the screen turned off.  However battery life is around 3 to 5 hours if you use it mainly as a phone.  Standbye time is around 100 to 150 hours.

PocketPCReviews  did a full review of the SP230 back in February.  It's definitely worth reading if you are planning on buying this device.  The SP2300 cost roughly $785.  This device is not available for US customers.
