Samsung i730 is a smartphone running Windows Mobile OS 2003se with EVDO capability. Combining the EVDO is really great for high speed internet surfing, retrieving emails. Previously the news said the Samsung i730 will be available at Verizon Wireless in March but it is still no actual release date yet. Engadget said they have got some reliable info on the available date, and at the same time 1 member in howardforums told us it is "nowhere near being ready to be released".
As of right now, Verizon is on target to launch the phone sometime within the next three to six weeks, offering the phone to its business customers for around $390 to $450, with the general public getting it for somewhere between $600 and $700 before carrier subsidy and some more information posted on howardforums, RazrKasem mention the Samsung is not ready to be released, and no camera is built-in for the first version. To Clear up any unofficial Samsung I730 info.... I went to my product expo this morning 05/05/05 and Held the i730. It is "nowhere near being ready to be released" said a Samsung Representative with 2 of them on Display. and... sclevan from pdaphonehome.com forum has got the Samsung i730 from Verizon Wireless for 2 weeks test. He mentioned that the smartphone will be released in May to corporate clients and selling at $339 All, I forgot to mention that My VZW team including the Engineering Director in the east that got me the i730 said the phone would be released in May. They didn't mention a specific date, but they did imply that the May release date was to be to "Friends of the Family" release (i.e. high profile Corporate clients, fortunately like my company and me). The Engineering director also said that this phone was the easiest testing that they have ever done. His entire team found zero problems with the initial release of the OS. He said that never happens, so I don't think it will be testing issues to delay the release and I know Samsung wants the phone out to replace the i700. VZW engineers have nicknamed the i730 as the "Treo Killer". Pages (3): [1] 2 3 » ... Last » |
