Motorola announced the retail availability of the Motorola MPx220 in the United States. The model MPx220 with Cingular service is initially available at Best Buy stores nationwide beginning Sunday, October 17 and will hit Cingular retail stores later next month.

I got my MPx220 for two days, but and only have time to briefly play around with it. I have a few comments so far:

1. It has been discussed everywhere that the camera shouldn't included due to the poor quality.  My three year old T68i takes better photo than MPx220 with the camera attachment module. Here is a sample ... :)

2. The MPx220 is small, slightly thicker than the T68i. Overall, I like really like the design of the handset.

3. The ringtone is not loud enough with the original setting which is 4. You can set the level from 1-4 and Loud. I need to set it to "loud" all the time to get a reasonable notification when I get a phone call.

4. Again the ear piece volume isn't loud enough.  Out of ten phone calls, three are good and clear. Otherwise, it is just not loud enough.  The speaker phone is usually loud enough, I just wish that I could switch the ear piece and speaker phone... ;)

This is my first smart phone, so moving forward I will be able to start sharing my experience, tips and tricks to everyone.  I will have more to share on MPx220 when I get more familiar with it.
