The convenience cell phones offer enhances much of everyday life and can be crucial in emergency situations, but their unbridled use can rub people the wrong way. With cell phones nearly everywhere, a major concern is the proper etiquette for their use. Whether it's behind the wheel of a car or in a movie theater, people are beginning to lose patience with bad cell phone manners.

"Restaurants -- that's the worst," said resident Carol Greenberg. "It's irritating, to say the least, when you're in a restaurant and all the cell phones start going off. People are having active conversations, while you are trying to eat dinner."

A nationwide survey conducted by Sprint found that nearly three out of four (73 percent) adults said people using cell phones are less courteous than they were five years ago. But 97 percent of the same respondents classified themselves as "very courteous" or "somewhat courteous" in their own use of wireless phones.
