Samsung SDI to start producing their thin active-matrix organic light emitting diode (AM-OLED) display module for mobile phones.
Featuring a 0.52mm thickness, you may soon see a new type of display screen on your new mobile phone. Also anounced by LG, Samsung has start produced the 2.2-inch AM-OLED module with QVGA resolution (240 x 320). "We plan to mass produce the new AM-OLED module during the third quarter of this year," said Yoo Eui-Jin, vice president of AM-OLED Business at Samsung SDI. He added that Samsung SDI is "completely ready now" to begin volume production of the new module once orders are received. |
