Since last few months there were few rumors on the possible of Google Phone, an ads supported low cost (or even free) mobile phone with its own OS.

According to Blogger Simeon Simeonov, Andy Rubin, who was the founder of Danger has a team at Google and is working on the Google Phone. Prelimary phone details includes,

Blackberry-like, slick device
C++ core w/ OS bootstrap (some version of Linux?)
Optimized Java running on the C++ core (similar to what Andy did at Danger)
Vector-based presentation courtesy of Skia’s technology
Many services, including VoIP
