Opening the door to new product combinations for consumers, Texas Instruments (TI) delivers portable access to personalized content, as well as the flexibility to share and view it with friends, family, colleagues and classmates. With DLP and OMAP technologies from TI consumers can now use their cell phones to capture and store content, including high-quality digital movies and console-quality video games, and then watch the content with others via a connection to mobile, palm-sized DLP pocket projectors, that are full-featured, yet weigh less than one pound. The ability to share content between the handset and DLP display should drive increased content sharing as consumers, in particular video gamers and movie fans, will have easy on-the-go access to their personalized high-quality video content and live TV (sports, news, etc.). Consumers can display their video content in largerscreen sizes by connecting a DLP Pocket Projector to the video-out feature on OMAP-enabled handsets. Additionally, gamers can share their multi-dimensional video graphics, normally available only in consoles, with their friends anywhere a DLP display is available.
The mobile phone has become the ultimate mobile entertainment center, and with the ability to share this using a DLP display, TI is providing the foundation for seamless content sharing between handsets and display devices. Using the .55 DLP chip, these micro-projectors weigh less than one pound and offer incredible mobility. Pocket Projectors from Mitsubishi, Samsung, Boxlight, Toshiba and ViewSonic are available at major retailers today. TI's OMAP processors deliver low-power, high-performance multimedia processing to enable the kind of high-end user experience consumers expect while watching videos or playing games at home. |
