Vodafone K.K., formerly J-Phone Co. Ltd announced the development of five new cellphones due to release this summer.

V401D

The V401D is manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric.  The back side of the V401D 
features a Super CCD Honeycom camera capable of recording 2.00 mega pixels.  It comes with multiple lens covers to protect the camera lens and the camera becomes 
instantly activated when you open the cover.  There is also a feature to record up 
to 60 seconds of video in addition to still photography.

The V401D is the first in the industry to have a control pad on the side allowing 
you to easily operate functions like screen scrolling and camera zoom by finger 
tracing.  You can record often used functions for different tracing methods so that 
they can be recalled instantly.

The V401D features two LCD displays.  The main display is a 2.2 QVGA LCD and the 
sub-display features a large-size 1.3-inch QQVGA(160 by 120 pixel) LCD.  You can use 
the displays as view finders, display photos or even read long emails on the 
sub-display when the handset is closed.

The V401D weighs 115g and the dimension is 50 by 103 by 24mm when it is folded.  It 
has a continuous talk time of 130 minutes and a standby time of 400 hours when the 
unit is folded.  It also features an external storage capacity using a SD memory 
card.
