The first real life images of the K700 smartphone.

We reported the press release of the SonyEricsson K700 sometime back in March.  One lucky soul at HowardForums is lucky enough to mysteriously get a working unit.  Initial reports about the K700 from Bengalboy are all positive.  Here are some of the comments:

Just received the New K700....all I can say is WoW!! What a Man's Phone...This thing is very much a Business Man's small phone...very attractive and yet masculine. It retains alot of the T630 look, but with the Grey Metal brush finish, larger screen and thicker body, seems less of a toy and more of a tool.... I really like it and believe that those of you who want a serious little phone will love this offering of Sony/Ericsson based upon first appearances alone.....

What really impresses me about this phone is the "Design"...it is 3-Diminsional in its translucent keypad with a shiny metalic circular design underneath the 1,2,3 & 5 keys....like looking at a hologram...The keys are very shiny and appear to be like "glass" compared to the T630 which looks more like "plastic"...Light grey plastic combined with darker grey metal finish and then a very dark grey titanium batter cover are all awesome combinations for this phone. No doubt it is catered to the serious business man...or woman...but definitely not to the hip-hop or rave scene...

Just elegant and sophisticated with serious functions....

The Video camera is very nice, as well as the FM radio...lots of options with the Camera/Video and the onboard flash/light is a very nice feature. Bluetooth operation with my Digital is excellent and it supports both the handsfree and headset profiles.

Speakerphone is Great...works very well and is a nice addition to this form factor....which I still maintain is for professional preople. I have shown the phone to several people,,,,all of which have very positive commenst regarding it's appearance and size..

Very tiny...but a super nice screen and feature set....RF is extremely good!!

I've read some of your comments and what you fellows aren't considering is that this is a different kind-of handset...really...a very small phone with 32mb of built in memory, Java, video capture and FM radio as extras...it's not top-of-the-line.....but a feature rich handheld for a busy person, business man, etc.... If you want something more multi-media rich you shoul look at a P900 or the upcoming S700, which should have extra features to seperate itself from the K700 in market appeal. The S700 is much larger and has a very different focus...multi-media with a concentration on video...(I suggest those interested in that phone take a look at my thread on how to rip a DVD and encode for play on a MS Duo)...the K700 is kinda of a "Jack of all Trades"..."Master of None"... But in it's size and type, I don't think there is anything better outside of MS Smartphone.

I took a video with the K700 and several more photos. I also plan to post video of the actual phone in use so you can see and hear for yourself what it's operation and more advanced features are like......just a little longer and I don't think anyone after reading my review will have any questions about it's operation, speed, and features....

There's not doubt that the K700 is going to be a hot selling phone this year.  I can't wait to get a hold of one and do a full detail review.
