Cingular Wireless today introduced the Motorola L2, a mobile phone built especially for the requirements of American business and government while incorporating the ultra-thin design of Motorola SLVR.

The business-class Motorola L2 comes without a camera, external memory or music features, which many companies and government agencies restrict employees from having on their mobile phones. This coupled with Cingular's aggressive $116.99 offering for the device with a two-year contract means that the one-of-a-kind iconic design of the Motorola SLVR now is within reach of most corporate and government employees.

The Motorola L2 has the look and feel of its trendy, full-featured Motorola SLVR L7 brethren. It is of a candy bar design, is less than a half- inch thick and weighs about 3 ounces. The Motorola L2 comes with all of the essentials for the business person -- Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free use, speaker phone and quad-band technology that allows customers to make phone calls and access data throughout the U.S. as well as overseas in more than 180 countries for voice and over 100 countries for data. It also has mobile e-mail, and instant, text and multimedia messaging capabilities.

Features

  • Sleek sliver-like form factor with vivid color display
  • PoC for rapid 1-to-1 or 1-to-many conversations
  • Bluetooth wireless technology
  • Downloading ability to add MP3 ringtones, games, wallpapers, screensavers, video clips and more
  • J2ME MIDP 2.0 CLDC 1.1
  • GPRS Class 10 and WAP 2.0 for Internet access

The Motorola L2 is available now, exclusively in the U.S. through Cingular's B2B Sales force, for as low as $116.99 with a two-year service agreement, and up to $206.99 with no contract.
