Kyocera Wireless today announced the first CDMA2000?1xEV-DO PC Card available to Canadians, the Kyocera Passport, now available through Bell Canada.
The easy-to-use Passport 1xEV-DO card, also known as the Kyocera KPC650, can be installed in minutes and gives laptop users high-speed wireless data access of up to 2.4 Mbps. Passport not only provides the convenience of mobile connectivity but also offers broadband access to corporate applications, e-mail, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and browsers. Additionally, Passport's high-performance antenna design allows for higher data rates and improved coverage nationwide, particularly in low signal areas. The card boasts download speeds of up to 2.4 Mbps in EV-DO coverage areas and achieves download speeds with bursts of up to 153 kbps on CDMA2000 1X connections outside of EV-DO coverage. The Kyocera Passport 1xEV-DO PC Card is 2.13 in. x 4.84 in. x 0.51 in. and weighs 2.01 ounces. The card is priced as low as $99 on a 36 month contract with Bell Canada. Pages (2): [1] 2 » ...
