LG, Samsung and Kineto Wirelessannounced today that they have entered into an agreement where Samsung will license Kineto Wireless UMA technology for inclusion in future Samsung Cellular/Wi-Fi handsets.

"Collaborating with Kineto Wireless will help us to deliver world-class UMA-enabled dual-mode mobile phones to meet the rapidly growing demand from mobile operators around the globe."

UMA Technology, the 3GPP standard for Cellular/Wi-Fi convergence, enables mobile operators to leverage the economic and performance advantages of Wi-Fi/IP access to provide a dramatically improved subscriber experience for mobile voice, data and IMS services.
