This is the 2nd report that Motorola will no longer place any ODM orders for Microsoft Windows-based smartphones with Taiwan-based handset makers. Digitimes mentions that this including next version of MPx220, the MPx230. The handset vendor plans to switch all of its smartphone manufacturing back to its own production plants. Also, MPx website is removed from Motorola which was put up in December last year, the launched date could have further postponed.

Motorola plans to cancel the launch of its MPx230 Microsoft Windows-based smartphone, manufactured by Chi Mei Communication Systems (CMCS), according to sources at Taiwan handset makers. The vendor also intends to discontinue orders of the MPx200 and MPx220 models with CMCS and the MPx with Compal Electronics, indicated the sources.
