Samsung SCH-S250 5 Megapixel mobilephone uses a CCD camera module (not from Samsung), and now Samsung has created their own 5 Megapixel CMOS camera module. The CMOS camera module is much smaller than the CCD camera module. We can soon to have 5 Megapixel camera phone in small form size.

The CMOS camera module realizes power consumption as low as 80 mA/h, one-fourth the power consumption of CCD camera module and thereby offers optimum conditions for mobile devices, small size and long batter life, the electronic component manufacturer explained.

The ISP(Image Signal Processor) was designed so that handset makers can add other functions such as auto focusing and zooming.
