"One day I was just looking at my phone and it (the number) just popped up," said Thomas, an 18-year-old Harper College student. "It happened by itself. It's like I'm calling the number."

By the end of the month, he got a 160-page phone bill. At the end of the bill read the damage: 6,624 minutes. $592.20. By the time he got the service disconnected, the clockwork calls had tallied $773.30.

"That's why the minutes went crazy," T-Mobile spokesman Bryan Zidar said, adding he doesn't think many other T-Mobile customers should worry about a duplicate of the Thomas scenario. "I've never heard of this one before. I'm somewhat technically proficient and I can't figure out (exactly) how it was done."

Could it be... ghost?!
