After a long wait for this releases, Motorola finally make it to the net! Btw it is only for Cingular devices purchased in North America.

During the update you will have the ability to backup and restore the following items

• Time & Date
• SMS Inbox
• Ringtone & sound settings
• Java Midlet installation packages
• Pocket Internet Explorer Favourites
• Home Screen and Images including current homescreen
• Files in \storage\application data\home
• Files in \storage\home\my documents
• Calender & Contacts (Not recommended if you use ActiveSync synchronisation as duplication of these items may occur)

All other data will be lost!!

Basic Steps

1. Backup your data! Even the MPx 220 software update tool tell us it will backup the data, make another copy your own! You can use SpriteBackup to do the backup

2. You can download the MPx 220 software update tool here and you need Internet Connection as it will download the rom from the server.
