Verizon Wireless and Sierra Wireless today announced the availability of the Sierra Wireless AirCard 595U USB modem for use with Verizon Wireless' BroadbandAccess service.
Designed to provide customers access to Verizon Wireless’ Evolution-Data Optimized Revision A (EV-DO Rev. A) network, the AirCard 595U modem is compatible with USB ports on most notebook and desktop computers. The modem can also be connected through the included docking cradle, which provides an alternative for customers without PCMCIA card slots. BroadbandAccess customers using the AirCard 595U modem can expect average download speeds of 600 kilobits per second (kbps) to 1.4 megabits per second and average upload speeds of 500-800 kbps. The AirCard 595U modem is available for $179.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and a new two-year contract. |
