Pantech Wireless today announced the introduction of the PX-500 mobile broadband connection card in the U.S.
The mobile broadband solution operates at 3.3V for longer laptop computer battery and features an embedded dual-band soft flip antenna. Designed to operate on CDMA 1xRTT, EV-DO Rev. 0 and EV-DO Rev. A networks, the Pantech PX-500 will provide a mobile DSL-like experience when Sprint launches its EVDO Rev. A coverage in the future, and will be backwards compatible to 1xRTT and EV-DO Rev. 0 speeds in areas where Sprint EVDO Rev. A coverage is not available. The Pantech PX-500 is among the best-value data cards on the market, for a suggested retail price of $199.99 or is available for free with a two-year subscriber agreement and mail-in-rebate. The card is certified to operate on the current Sprint Power Vision Network and will support higher data speeds for a mobile DSL-like experience once Sprint makes its advanced mobile broadband services (EV-DO Rev. A) available beginning later this year. Using the cards with compatible laptops, the PX-500 gives customers access to the Internet, including, audio, video and data applications, anywhere the Sprint network is available.
