Toshiba Announced Slimmest 0.99mm LCD Screen

Toshiba Matsushita has announced the world's slimmest TFT-LCD panel (yet another slimmest claimed!), measuring only 0.99mm in thickness including the module, for super-slim mobile phones.

While LG.Philips LCD announced its 1.3mm TFT-LCD module last week, Toshiba Matsushita presented its 0.99mm prototype in CEATEC Japan today. The new slim TFT-LCD will have a QVGA resolution (240 x 320), projecting the image in a 2" size screen. The TFT-LCD screen module is only 3.5 grams. Toshiba Matsushita aims to let phone manufacturer further reduce their phone size with its slim TFT-LCD. The company planned to send out their first LCD sample to the customer in April 2007.
