Motorola Japan announced the release of the FOMA M2501 ("M2501"), a high-speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) card.
Inserted directly into a laptop’s card slot, the M2501 is a versatile tool for business and recreational use, enabling remote access, telephone and video conferencing as well as enjoying music and video content via broadband, anywhere, anytime. The M2501 high-speed utility software and NTT DoCoMo’s videophone software allow users to immediately take advantage of the PC card’s high speed access. The product will be available from September 29 (Fri.) through mobile carrier, NTT DoCoMo. |

The M2501 is Japan’s first PC card to support international roaming in 142 countries and is compatible with GSM/GPRS/3G(WCDMA). Users can now experience seamless roaming throughout Japan’s FOMA high-speed coverage area and abroad, with a downlink speed of maximum 3.6 Mbps enabling fast data transmission at roughly 10 times the speed of conventional handsets.
