SDIO TV1000/TV1100 DVB-H Tuner Card enable you to receive digital media broadcast programe on compatible smartphones.

Philips showcase its SDIO TV1000 / TV1100 mobile/portable TV solutions for Europe, Asia, and US DVB-H markets in Computex show Taiwan. These DVB-H solutions let users upgrade their existing media players, smartphones, and other portable or mobile devices to support digital TV reception. The card size is 24 x 39 x 2.1 mm, almost fit into the SDIO slot except a small top section of the antenna. The antenna can be further extended to get better reception.

They include a TV tuner and a programmable channel decoder/demodulator, along with a software source decoder and driver software for widely used operating systems like Mobile 5 and Linux. A full software stack with IPDC over DVB, provided by independent software vendors, completes each solution. Very high integration in a module format enables a smaller design with no external components, while programming options make it easy to support evolving standards and introduce upgrades.

The SDIO TV1000 solution, designed for the European and Asian markets, uses the TDA18281, a zero-IF tuner. The SDIO TV1100 solution, for the US market, uses the TDA18282, which operates in the 1670-MHz range.

Each solution uses a channel decoder/demodulator based on the TDA10105, a low-power, DVB-H channel decoder/demodulator. Built with a DSP architecture, it can be programmed to support multiple standards, including DVB-H, and can be used for in-field upgrades to adapt to changing broadcast needs. Excellent Doppler performance (120 Hz) guarantees stable reception under mobile conditions.
