Display screen that detech light pen input.

In a "Display 2006" tradeshow in Japan, Toshiba and Hitachi has another idea of using light as input alternative. The light pen input capability is based on the "System-on-Glass" technology. The technology is able to reduce the thickness and weight of a current touch screen display.The pen need a power source to emit the light though, users will need to worry about the battery usage condition for the pen.

Both Toshiba and Hitachi are planning to finish the prototype by the end of this year.
