PRETEC is introducing today a new generation of flash memory card and module, C-Flash, at CeBIT 2005 in Hanover. The memory card is 17mm x 12mm x 1.0mm in size. However, not long ago Samsung announced MMCmicro memory card which is 12 x 14 x 1.1mm in size, smaller than the C-Flash. The advantages of the C-Flash is its capacity up to 2048GB and transfer speed up to 120MB/s.
Pretec C-Flash supports most of the memory chipsets from Samsung, Toshiba, Micron and Renesas. Pretec is currently sampling 128MB C-Flash to major mobile phone makers, with capacity of 1GB available by Q2 of 2005. Mobile phones with C-Flash bundling will be in the market start from Q3 of 2005.
