For the generation of young Singaporeans who grew up on reality television and the popular culture of video sharing, M1 is offering them the opportunity to be producers and stars of their own video clips with the launch of MeTV tomorrow.

MeTV can be an enriching experience in more ways than one. Besides sharing their creativity with rest of Singapore, the owners of these video clips will be paid by M1 every time someone views their clips. Customers simply upload their video clips onto the MeTV site via multi-media messaging (MMS).

M1 will pay the video clip owner S$0.05 every time his clip is downloaded by others. Customers have to earn S$10, the equivalent of 200 downloads, before payment is made.

"MeTV is M1’s response to the popularity of ‘real TV’ and brings the spontaneity of video sharing to the mobile platform. This service makes it really easy for customers to share with others interesting snippets of life and make money at the same time. With the prevalence of camera phones, anyone can just shoot and send," said Neil Montefiore, Chief Executive Officer, M1.

Uploading of video clips - will be free for customers until 30 April 2007. Thereafter, they will be charged S$0.21 for every video clip they upload. Downloading of video clips will be chargeable at S$0.21 per download.
