The Weather Channel Interactive (TWCi) today announced the launch of its first Flash Lite downloadable application for select Verizon Wireless Get It Now-enabled phones. Enhanced with rich graphics powered by Flash, the new application combines an unsurpassed combination of comprehensive weather information and intuitive design. The subscription service delivers detailed forecasts, animated radar and satellite maps, severe weather alerts and national severe news including hurricane coverage, all in a customizable and easy-to-navigate interface. Adobe and Verizon Wireless announced earlier today the availability of Flash Lite for BREW which gives Verizon Wireless customers the ability to automatically download applications and immediately "Flash-enable" their phones.
The new application delivers more than 44,000 animated radar and satellite maps for U.S. locations (including Alaska, Puerto Rico and Hawaii) and can be pre-set with favorite locations. The service costs $3.99 monthly access and can be downloaded from Verizon Wireless’ Get It Now virtual store on select phones, including The V (LG VX9800), Motorola RAZR V3c and V3m and Samsung SCH-a950. Download charges for Get It Now applications vary and airtime charges apply when browsing, downloading and using certain applications. Customers need a Get It Now-enabled handset and Verizon Wireless digital service to access the Get It Now virtual store. |
