Call it the Carrier Devices i-mate Smartphone2. Call it the O2 XPhone. Call it the Orange SPV e200. Or the HTC Voyager. You wanted it? Go get it - the i-mate Smartphone2!Matt M at mtekk rushes to get his order in for the latest MS Smartphone ...
At last we can advise that at least two retailers have stock of the device. More retailers are sure to follow, but for all those who've been bursting to get their hands on the first Windows Mobile 2003 based Smartphone in Australia, the wait is over. The two retailers in question are Calculator King and Press Digital . Special thanks to forum user randallc, who let us know about Calculator King as soon as he'd secured his own. Call it whatever you like - since Carrier Devices announced the i-mate Smartphone 2 for Australia, we've been scouring Telstra shops and various sites for availability. No luck with Telstra, other than being advised that "it's in their catalog, so it should arrive soon, but we don't know when." Those were the good responses. Those assistants who heard only the word "i-mate" and proceeded to try to sell me an i-mate Pocket PC Phone weren't greatly appreciated. A number of other retailers seem to have committed to the O2 XPhone, which is still being listed as 31st March 2004. I wonder how long that will last when they find out that the device is already on the market...
