The Motorola MPx200 upgrade to Windows Mobile 2003, and the release of the Motorola MPx220 have caused much speculation, according to Matt M ...

For those of you who have sean Lazarus's post here ( http://www.pocketpcpassion.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=38939), well let's put a few things out on the table first:

(1) Remember Lazarus works for AWS, so whatever he tells us is under NDA, which means that there's plenty he can't reveal so take his comments with a grain of salt.

(2) Motorola and TMobile have also signed NDA, so if this is the case, how would Lazarus know anything about TMobile SmartPhone? That being said, let's review what's been said to date.

(a) There will indeed be a MPx220, however it sound like Lazarus or his representatives at Motorola don'tk now anything about it. We can speculate that the MPx220 will be a TMobile exclusive, however the MPx300 may be something AWS is considering (read Lazarus's post above)
(b) AWS is interested in releasing another SmartPhone around the same time as Tmobile releases their MPx220. We've speculated the Voq. More details coming soon
(c) Comments made by the Motorola representative at CES, and what's slowly coming out of the AWS offices in Redmond, WA hint at the possibility of a Windows Mobile 2003 upgrade for the MPx200 within the next few months. While Lazarus won't or can't comment on this becuase of the NDA, all the details so far say this is going to happen.

Yes, this is all speculation based on what's already out there and how Lazarus selectively communicate with everyone.

I have a feeling that we'll see something leak within the next 3 to 4 weeks concerning the Voq and the WM2003 upgrade for the MPx200 (again this is a gut feeling, so don't beat me up over it). "

All in all, very interesting. Let's wait and see how this pans out. I have a feeling we'll know the real truth sooner rather than later.
