A Singapore-based company, DOML, sent me their screen protector - the Martin Fields Overlay Plus Screen Protector - to review on my XDA II.

Martin Fields Overlay Plus Screen Protector Overall Score

Good:

  • Excellent clarity
  • Easy application
  • Excellent responsiveness
  • Comparable price
  • Appears to be made for durability
  • Washable and reusable
  • Easily cleanable

Bad:

  • Smudges and fingerprints
  • Reflection factor - might take some getting used to
  • No wipes for cleaning the screen included
  • No tool to help remove the overlay
  • No local resellers noted as yet - must order from website or overseas

Verdict:

I do believe the Martin Shields Overlay Plus has earnt an equal score to that of WriteSHIELD so far. If I fault the WriteSHIELD for being hard to read at times, this is on a par with the Overlay Plus being "too" reflective. And the Overlay Plus makes up for this in any case through the excellent responsiveness and clarity. I'd like to see at least a dry cloth included in the package, as well as local resellers here. But otherwise, so far I am very happy. I will revisit these protectors soon, however, to see if their ability to handle wear and tear could perhaps change the score in any way.

Matt's Score : 9 / 10
