Sony Ericsson announced the S700, Z500, and K700 phones on Tuesday that included new shapes and updates of current models for the European and American market.

The first new phones launched by Sony Ericsson on Tuesday is the S700 handset which has a camera with a 1.3 megapixel picture resolution. It will be available to the European market in the fourth quarter.

The second Sony Ericsson handset, the Z500, is a telephone which will be available in the United States in the third quarter and work on the fast Enhanced Data Rates for Global Evolution (EDGE) network - a third generation technology using existing GSM network spectrum.

The EDGE technology featured in three products, but?the Z500 is the company's first EDGE phone while the two data cards GC83 and GC85 follows a similar product called GC82. Sony Ericsson said it will broaden its portfolio of both 3G and EDGE phones in 2005.
