Sharp and Opera Software are now bundling the Opera browser on the new Sharp Zaurus SL-6000 Personal Mobile Tool. The SL-6000 is the first embedded device to feature the power of the new Opera 7 for embedded devices. Opera was included in the SL-6000's predecessor, the SL-5500, receiving praise from media and users alike.

The Opera browser - which is not planned to be available for Windows based devices - is now bundled on another Linux based device, according to Geekzone.

" Sharp and Opera Software are now bundling the Opera browser on the new Sharp Zaurus SL-6000 Personal Mobile Tool. The SL-6000 is the first embedded device to feature the power of the new Opera 7 for embedded devices. Opera was included in the SL-6000's predecessor, the SL-5500, receiving praise from media and users alike.

"The combination of the new Zaurus SL-6000 and the latest version of Opera is a mobile professional's dream come true. Geared for corporate users, the SL-6000 was designed from the ground up to be a powerful and flexible personal mobile tool enabling mobile corporate customers to seamlessly connect to critical enterprise data no matter where they are," said Steve Petix, associate vice president of Sharp’s Solutions Division. "Its extensive expandability as well as embedded Wi-Fi capabilities, large VGA screen and easy-to-use keyboard make it an ideal business tool. The Opera browser represents class-leading capabilities for a seamless online experience when working remotely."

The SL-6000 makes Web page and spreadsheet viewing easier by switching from portrait to "VGA landscape" view at the touch of a button. It has a crystal clear, four-inch, transflective, high-density TFT LCD screen. This larger CG Silicon VGA display with 640x480 resolution shows up to four times the information than the average handheld product with a 320x240 resolution can display.
