Symantec has made Symantec Mobile Security for Symbian available in Test Version (Beta). You can go through a list of testing start from installation, auto protect test, virus scan test and end with uninstallation.

 

 

This product supports the Symbian Series 60 and Series 80 platforms. This includes devices such as:

  • Nokia 6260
  • Nokia 6600
  • Nokia 6620
  • Nokia 6630
  • Nokia 6670
  • Nokia 7610
  • Nokia 9300
  • Nokia 9500

Symantec Mobile Security test includes,

  1. Installation:
    Launch the Symantec Mobile Security for Symbian installer from your device
  2. Clean Virus Scan:
    The application will scan through the entire Symbian file system and display a “Scan Summary” screen upon completion.
  3. Auto-Protect:
    Auto-Protect will pop up and ask you to delete, allow access, or deny access to the infected file.
  4. Infected Virus Scan:
    Download the Eicar virus. The Eicar test virus will be caught and displayed in the Scan Summary. All instances of the virus will be accounted for.
  5. Activity Log:
    Activity Log will contain entries for each scan performed, with the correct date and time. Any cancelled scans are logged as partial scans.
  6. Accessing the webpages:
    All web pages are able to be loaded correctly when the firewall is activated.
  7. Changing Firewall Configurations:
    Launch the program, the main screen should display the current Firewall protection level.
  8. Live Update test:
    All product information should be updated using the live update.
  9. Using LiveUpdate Reminder:
    LiveUpdate Reminder appears at the scheduled time.
  10. Using LiveUpdate Scheduler:
    A LiveUpdate session launches at the scheduled time.
  11. Uninstall:
    Symantec Mobile Security and LiveUpdate Wireless will be uninstalled successfully. Icons should no longer be present.
