Available for Treo 700P, Treo 680, or Treo 650, Palm has made the official backup program available for Palm OS device. This beta software is currently on works for AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon customers in US.

Slightly different from other PalmOS backup software like Resco Backup, the Palm backup saves a copy of your phone data to a secure server. It let you set an automatic schedule, for example start every 3am in the morning while you are in the sleep.

The Palm backup software will backed up your data includes:

• Contacts
• Calendar
• Memos
• Tasks
• Bookmarks
• Speed dials
• Call log

It looks like sms messages is not included in this version, it back up only the essential data but not everything inside your palm. You will need to register a Palm backup account in order to use the service. You will receive an activation email containing a link to activate your account.

This will be a nice free utility to backup your data wirelessly, but you are advice to sync your phone regularly or 3rd party backup software so that all your phone contents will be backed up.
