Phone review of the Sagem my600v. Excellent battery life, Lightweight 3G phone.

Tired of dropped calls because your battery life is at four percent?  Looking for something not on the bulky and obnoxious list?  Vodafone's Sagem my600v is possibly the perfect match.  The Sagem my600v may not be available in your area, but it's worth taking a look at and if you live in a 3G coverage area you might want to buy.  First lets start with the features then design.

The Sagem my600v is a fairly new phone to the marketplace and a newcomer to the stellar line of my600 phones.  It has a superb battery life, (176 X 220) display, video and audio playback, and the VGA camera supports (640 X 480) resolution.  Formats for audio playback are limited to MP3/ACC/ACC+/eAAC+ so it might be a setback for those wanting an audio mp3 player-slash-phone.  The Sagem my600v comes with the standard 3G features but it stops short of smartphone qualifications.  In fact, it doesn't come close but it's a phone designed to perfection when it comes to ergonomics.

With this Sagem model comes Bluetooth, 16mb of storage, miniSD support, Java support, SMS & MMS, an email client, polyhonic support, WAP 2.0, GPRS, and you can talk on it forever with 4 hours of talktime and 400 hours of standby.  This phone also beats the competition with 17 hours of non-stop mp3 play and the screen uses very little battery power to keep the display running; thus excellent battery power.  A distinct feature that I look for is the "space" and "0" on the same button.  Is it a Nokia trend or just something that has saturated the market?  Increasing, phone companies are borrowing subtle Nokia features that aren't so obvious to the untrained eye like the navigation features and menu settings.

Now, why would I buy this phone?  It's design is high-quality, elegant, and flatout trendy.  The edges are round and bolded with a crystal white finish and the back is practically the same, so consistency is good.   It's a colorful, vibrant, and attractive piece of gadget technology that accessories any individual or environment.   The 1.3 megapixel camera is below par with normal, grey scale, sepia, negative, and solarization settings and the Sagem my600v lacks a self-portrait mirror and suprisingly a flash!  A major complaint people have with this phone is, of course, no flash and no front-mounted camera for video conferencing.  ThreeG (3G) phones are third generation phones designed to take advantage of high data rates, especially for tv watching or broadcasting but Sagem said, "forget it".

My verdict. If you want a cheap 3G cellphone, excellent design, and unmatched battery life then forget the competition.  Overall, this phone receives a 74%, because the features are just "okay" and they don't excite the high-end phone buyer, but the design is quite edible and interesting for a 3 minute stare.
