Home Mobile Phones Helio

It hardly seems like yesterday that we got the first glimpse of Helio's dual-sliding Ocean super-phone, and it's already available to buy. Helio might not be calling the Ocean a "smartphone", but there's no doubting that the feature list is packed. Not only has it got the same MySpace integration, GPS-enabled Buddy Beacon and full internet access as seen on the Drift, there's the addition of a full QWERTY keyboard for instant messaging on AIM, Yahoo! and Microsoft Live.
A 2-megapixel camera with GPS location tagging, audio and video player with close ties to Helio's own download store that offers video-on-demand and over-the-air music downloads, and Google Maps for Mobile round out a damn impressive handset. Check out Vincent's review and ongoing coverage of the Ocean over at SlashGear for more details. The Ocean is available immediately for $295 at Helio retail stores in Santa Monica, Palo Alto, San Diego, Denver and NYC, as well as via helio.com or 1-888-88-HELIO. GameStop/EB Games will start offering Ocean next week; all other authorized retailers will start selling it shortly after. Helio offers an unlimited voice plan called All-In memberships for $145/month with unlimited voice minutes and unlimited data (including text messages, picture messages, 3G network access and Helio services). Unlimited voice is also available with A La Carte membership for $125/month with pay-as-you-use data charges. related article http://www.slashphone.com/tags/ocean |
