Pantech Group, the second-largest mobile phone developer in South Korean, has announced the launching of their new multimedia EV-DO handset. Dubbed the "Hero", and first displayed at the CTIA 2006 convention, the unit will be reaching our shores this spring, promising a host of features for users to enjoy. Featuring a sleek jet-black exterior, 2.2" LCD display, phenomenal audio capabilities, dual speakers, and 2 Mega pixel camera for photos and video, the Hero promises to be the only solution you'll ever need, all in a sleek, portable cellular phone.

While Pantech will handle the services over in Asia, the U.S. launch will be handled by mobile virtual network operator MVNO Helio, a joint venture Korean mobile company SK Telecom and U.S. ISP Earthlink, Inc. MVNO Helio launch a companion network service for the new devices when they launch; the Hero will be the high-end phone in the Helio family.
