Nokia 6280 Review There're several ways we can answer a call with this phone. We can slide the phone up, use the boring answer call button, or programme the phone to pick up calls when we press any button. Slide call handling is optional and we like to turn it on as it's sensibly cool to answer and end calls sliding up and down. The phone comes with a whole lot of polyphonic ringtones and you can also use your own mp3 or acc files. If you want to be funky, you can also try setting the phone to play a video when there's an incoming call.
The camera is a 2.0 megapixel camera with a consistently warm colour temperature, if just a wee bit washed out. It's up to standard but we've certainly seen better colour and contrast quality, even in some of the older Nokia models. You can edit your images by decorating it with cliparts, frames and text, and also crop out unwanted details due to bad framing, which is quite a standard function of Nokia phone cameras.
What we're more excited about is the image sequence function which allows you to take 3 shots at split second intervals with one click of the button, then choose the best of the lot. You can also apply 3 different colour effects, namely Greyscale, Sepia and Negative, allowing you to do a fair bit of artsy-fartsy experimentation. On the video aspect, the recorder can capture clips of with excellent audio visual details in the 3gp format. The media player plays 3GPP, H.263 video, MPEG-4, and AMR video streamed in a video call or via the web.
After you've taken your pictures, you can also make use of the latest Pictbridge technology to print them, simply by connecting your phone to a compatible printer using the Pop-port/usb cable. The phone comes with 6mb internal memory and a 64mb miniSD card in a hot swap slot which allows you to insert and remove the card without turning off the phone.
