Love. That’s the name of Nokia’s latest series of designer phones in French, and really, the notion can’t get any more mushy, or phones any more flowery. L’amour is a daring move by Nokia but certainly well-aimed.

For all its grandeur, 7360 is surprisingly weak in its features. This phone does not come with an mp3 player or blue-tooth, and people who have come to take these features for granted may feel downgraded. The FM radio and infra-red connectivity are nice consolations, but we miss the snappy transfer of pictures into our blue-tooth enabled laptops and phone friends.

The camera uses VGA instead of the newer XGA technology, putting it right out of competition in the megapixel race. It only supports 640 x 480 pixel resolution and comes with no zoom. There’s no flash either, but pictures taken under fluorescent light are clear enough. You can also use the night mode when it gets too dark. For reasons we can’t fathom, however, the colour temperature is inconsistent. We took 2 pictures at the same place with the same lighting seconds apart. One turned out bluish and the other warm.

You can edit your pictures by changing the contrast. You can also crop away parts that you don’t like. Advanced editing allows you to add text, clipart and frames to the image, but it shrinks the image to less 10% of its original size.
