Hot on the heels of its sleek 8800 model boasting Porsche slide construction, Nokia delights us with yet another slide phone, this time especially for ladies.

Unlike some of its designer predecessors, 6111 does not sacrifice sensibility for good looks and smallness. In fact, it's pretty impressive in its ergonomics. The buttons are a good size and pressure, elongated nicely to fit our hands. The push-up slide mechanism even gives us the thrill of answering calls with a thumbs-up gesture. (Yes, try it!)

This sophisticated ease is furthered by the PC suite CD-ROM which allows you to link your PC and phone via bluetooth and browse the phone as if it's just another folder. File transfer is a mere matter of cut and paste.

Here are some of the exciting features of the PC suite -

  • Convert midi files into polyphonic ringtones.
  • Resize your favourite pictures to be used as Nokia wallpaper.
  • 3gp player to playback phone videos on your PC.
  • Syncrhonise contacts and calendar items.
  • Sms friends thru your PC.

Connectivity functions include the standard infrared, bluetooth, USB, and GPRS. Surfing the net on its xHTML browser is almost painless with the new EDGE technology that cuts down all the waiting time.
