The Siemens Gigaset S450 IP cordless phone allows low cost calls via the Internet without having to use a PC. In addition to a LAN connection, the hybrid phone offers an analogue fixed line connection. The Gigaset S450 IP has separate lines allowing two people to use the phone at the same time. Users also benefit from being able to program in up to four different Voice over IP (VoIP) numbers.

The Gigaset S450 IP makes Internet telephony easy. At the touch of button users can switch between making an Internet or a traditional landline phone call and can expect the same quality no matter which option they choose. This makes using the latest technology effortless and users don’t have to forgo their traditional fixed line.

Installation and configuration is simple. Users just need to use the handset to download the relevant service provider settings.

If you install more than one handset (up to six), as many as four Internet numbers can be allocated. Additionally, two users can talk via the Internet at the same time - something that was previously only possible with an ISDN connection. The large color display (128 x 128 Pixel) shows the subject and sender details of incoming e-mails, making reading and keeping an eye on new messages easy without having to switch on a PC.

The Gigaset S450 IP supports a wide range of practical functions such as call forwarding, redial, and call back. Three-way conference calls are quick and easy to initiate. The telephone book can store up to 150 entries and the integrated speaker phone offers superior voice quality. The phone has five volume levels which can be easily adjusted and a standard headphone connection (2.5 mm phone jack) for the use of a mono-headset.

The Gigaset S450 IP will hit the stores next month (October 2006) in "Platinum" and "Titanium" versions, priced at 129.95 Euro.
