Patton Electronics SmartLink Micro Analog Telephone Adapter (M-ATA) is now shipping. The SmartLink M-ATA is Patton's latest customer-premise-equipment (CPE) innovation for Voice-over-IP (VoIP) networking. It also happens to be the smallest analog telephone adapter (ATA) on the market. Building on a track record of large-scale deployments featuring Patton’s VoIP equipment in carrier and service-provider networks, today’s announcement further establishes Patton as a technology innovator and VoIP-industry leader.
The device's tiny size and light weight are designed to minimize shipping costs. Built-in remote-management features with Patton’s free support services further reduce VoIP operating expenses, leading to higher profits for carriers and lower costs for subscribers. Patton's pocket-size M-ATA connects any standard analog phone or fax machine to an enterprise or service-provider VoIP network. The tiny-yet-powerful device makes state-of-the-art VoIP available to any home, home office or small office with broadband Internet access. Businesses and non-profits can use the SmartLink M-ATA to reduce or eliminate teleworkers' phone charges by connecting remote offices through the Internet to a corporate VoIP network. The device’s ultra-miniature dimensions also add a convenience factor. Employees can easily slip the M-ATA into a pocket or briefcase to carry home, where the tiny footprint takes up a negligible amount of desk space. The SmartLink M-ATA provides a single RJ-11/12 FXS port that connects to an analog phone, and one RJ-45 10/100Base-TX full-duplex/auto-sensing Ethernet port that connects to a broadband xDSL or cable modem. The M-ATA supports SIP or MGCP call signaling, G.711, G.726, G.723, and G.729ab CODECS, G.711 transparent FAX and T.38 FAX relay. IP services include NAPT, DHCP client, PPoE, programmable static routs, ICMP redirect, and VLAN 802.p/q support. Management services include web-browser configuration, multilevel security access, TFTP and HTTP configuration and software loading, SNMPv2 agent, and syslog support.
