The Gigaset SX553 WLAN dsl is the latest in the successful range of multifunctional data and communication solutions for the home from Siemens Home and Office Communication Devices.

With the aid of Atheros Super G technology, this WLAN router transmits at up to 108 MBit/s, wirelessly links several PCs at once to the internet and enables two analog telephones to be connected for convenient use of voice over IP telephony. The only prerequisite is that the user is registered with a SIP-compatible VoIP service. Simply by entering the user data into the router configuration, users can then make phone calls via the internet using their usual analog device.

The Gigaset SX553 WLAN dsl can be operated with both analog and ISDN connections. Up to four PCs can be hooked up via Ethernet using the Gigaset SX553 WLAN dsl's integrated switch. External storage devices or a printer can be linked quickly via the integrated USB2.0 interface and accessed by all network users. In accustomed Siemens tradition, the Gigaset SX553 WLAN dsl offers extensive security and firewall functions, for example WPA encryption. From the minute the device is put into operation, the user is supported by a convenient installation wizard.

The Gigaset SX553 WLAN dsl will be available from the end of October (2005) and priced at 199.95 euro (RRP).
