mBlox today announced it is working with application service provider Dynetic to deliver a new SMS re-bidding service to eBay in Spain.

eBay's SMS re-bidding service enables users to track bids through "outbid" alerts and react quickly from their mobile should they need to increase a bid. The service, which costs 20 euro cents plus VAT per message, will be offered to users as an option when a bid is placed online.

"We worked closely with eBay to develop a re-bidding application that would meet their exacting standards,” said Michael Neidhoefer, CEO of Dynetic. "Early on we recognized that in order for the mobile solution to be optimal for eBay, we needed a superior mobile transaction network on which to run the service. mBlox's total focus on the mobile transaction network, carrier-grade network infrastructure and mobile knowledge made them the ideal partner to help realize this mobile solution."

Initially the service will be promoted on the eBay Spain site but mBlox and Dynamic’s solution is scalable so that the re-bidding service can be easily replicated in additional markets.
