Unwanted text messages or phone calls continue to plague mobile phone users in South Korea, prompting the government to take emergency measures to bring the headache under control. To tame the mobile spammers, the Korea Communication Commission (KCC) on Sunday said it would take the unusual step of punishing the country's telecom companies today, along with unlawful marketers. Telecom carriers are supposed to discontinue the numbers of illegal mobile marketers within three to five days after being instructed to do so.
