Australia Police track drug buyers via SMS

AUTOMATED text messages are alerting police of the identity and location of people who pharmacy hop for drugs containing pseudoephedrine. The Pharmacy Guild of Queensland software triggers an immediate alarm when multiple packets of drugs are requested by customers within a short period of time.

It will still depends on the pharmacists. Pharmacists would need to key in the drug buyers detail after their purchase and manufacturer's backend system is collecting the information.

Police department will then access the data remotely, and system will check and trigger the sms automatically if it met certain conditions.
